About Logan Art Gallery
Established in 1995, Logan Art Gallery is an award-winning cultural venue that celebrates creativity in all its forms. The Gallery presents a diverse program of exhibitions featuring artworks across all mediums, showcasing both solo and group exhibitions by local and national artists. It proudly highlights the rich cultural contributions of Torres Strait Islander and First Nations artists, and regularly hosts significant touring exhibitions from major Australian galleries and arts organisations.
The Gallery features four distinctive exhibition spaces, along with a welcoming foyer area for additional displays. A large, purpose-built workshop space supports a vibrant calendar of public programs, including hands-on workshops and inspiring events that complement the exhibition schedule.
A dedicated Young People’s Gallery offers exhibitions specifically designed to engage younger audiences, with fun and interactive activities that encourage creativity and learning. Beyond its exhibitions and events, Logan Art Gallery is committed to serving the community. It offers group bookings for schools, community organisations, and social groups, and runs creative programs for children after school and during school holidays.

Beyond Frames – Video art from the National Gallery of Australia

Beyond frames brings a major body of video art from the National Gallery of Australia to Logan Art Gallery as part of Sharing the National Collection, spanning more than 5 decades of practice and experimentation with the moving image. Rather than a single, fixed medium, video art has continually shifted in response to new technologies and artistic intentions, absorbing elements of performance, installation, cinema, and digital culture. The works in this exhibition trace that evolution, revealing a form that remains restless, critical and expansive, continuing to redefine what art can be.
Presented in Logan over a 2-year period, Beyond frames situates the gallery within a broader national and international context while offering sustained access to a significant strand of contemporary practice rarely encountered at this scale outside major institutions. The exhibition brings together works that are at times rigorous, disarming, poetic, and direct, inviting audiences to engage with the moving image not as something fixed or passive, but as a space of ongoing inquiry and encounter.

Creative Industries Collections
Our collections bring together contemporary art, public art and local heritage to reflect the City of Logan’s identity, creativity and cultural diversity. We care for artworks and objects to museum standards and share them through exhibitions, programs and loans.
Logan Art Collection
The Logan Art Collection is a dynamic portfolio selected for cultural significance, artistic quality and relevance to Logan. Guided by professional standards and an Art Acquisitions Committee, the collection supports Logan-based artists and showcases diverse contemporary practice.
Started in 1988, it includes paintings, works on paper, photographs, ceramics, mixed media works and sculptures.
Works for the Logan Art Collection have been acquired in line with our art collection policy. Suitable works are selected from exhibitions, the studios of local artists, and donations. We also receive donations through the Commonwealth’s Taxation Incentives for the Arts (Cultural Gifts) Program.

Mayes Cottage Collection
The Mayes Cottage Collection offers a rare window into Queensland’s pioneering heritage from early settlement to the 1930s. It includes original artefacts and personal belongings of the Mayes family, interpreted in the context of the preserved homestead and outbuildings.
Through ongoing conservation and sensitive curation, the collection supports education, interpretation and community connection—helping visitors engage with the lives, challenges and achievements that shaped Logan’s history.
Public Art Collection
Public art enhances Logan’s public spaces and reflects our diverse communities and heritage. Through commissions and partnerships, the collection supports local artists and creates accessible, meaningful experiences that invite discussion and connection.

Looking for a unique gift? The Logan Art Gallery store stocks creative contemporary gifts and collectibles including original jewellery, scarves, glassware, ceramic works, wooden items, prints, art publications and children’s books.
The gallery store promotes local artists and designers and provides a perfect setting for you to sell your work and increase visibility. If you are a Logan artist and want to sell your work send us an enquiry at artgallery@logan.qld.gov.au.
Parking
Free parking for cars and buses is available at the front of the gallery. Entry to the car park is on Wembley Road. There are three designated disabled parking bays immediately in front of the gallery.
Driving
North (from Brisbane) & West (from Springwood) via M1, Pacific Highway, exit onto Paradise Road, the left onto Kingston Road and then right onto Wembley Road.
East (from Browns Plains) & South (from Gold Coast) via Logan Motorway, exit onto Wembley Road head into Logan Central.
Train
Translink operates a rail service to and from Woodridge station on a daily basis. The Woodridge station is located just a short 750 metre walk, approximately 10 minutes from the Logan Art Gallery
Bus
Bus services in the City of Logan are provided by two private bus companies: Logan City Bus Service and Park Ridge Transit. Both are under contract with Translink.

Logan Art Gallery provides free educational activities for primary and secondary schools. Activities include self-guided tours, guided tours and hands on creative workshops inspired by the current exhibitions on display. Our team can also tailor the exhibition inspired experience for you and your students.
